I love the team at United Plugins.
Not only are they cool cats, they make some freakin’ unbelievable plugins. LTG favourite’s include the wild FrontDAW plugin, the FireCobra and the Quick AG, just to name a few.
Now they’ve released the fantastic Retronaut, a multi-voice vibrato and chorus with lo-fi effects. Inspired by old analogue gear (think bucket brigade chips, tape cassettes, vinyl records and voltage-controlled filters), the Retronaut is the perfect solution tpo adding some blur, wobble and destruction to your tracks.
Here’s the spiel:
“The multi-voice engine allows you to mix from a single vibrato voice up to 4, resulting in a rich chorus. The mix is continuously variable, so you can find sweet spots between the voices.”
“The heart of Retronaut is its modulation. However, you can dial back the “Vibe” and use its other effects. The tape saturation sounds so good it could have been a plugin on its own. Get that warm, woolly and compressed tape sound, then shape it with the VA filters and mix to perfection.”
I’ve been trying it out for the last couple of days and it’s absolutely wicked.
