The Sound Delay VST from Voxengo is a beast. While it’s a super simple, stripped-down unit, what it does do, it does in highly-accurate, transparent ways.
Here’s the limitation: a basic signal delaying function only, without signal feedback or modulation capabilities.
Strange as it may sound, that’s what I love about this delay. It doesn’t give you the opportunity to muddy things up. Rather it practically begs you to make everything big, fat and marvellous by just doing the basics.
Add it to drums for a huge, thumping stereo image. Double your guitars like a machine or run your whole track through it for wall-of-sound density.
It goes without saying that it’s easy to use (obviously), but that’s the genius here.
PROS: It does one thing really, really well.
CONS: Don’t expect a lot of options. There are none.
