When I came across this, I thought “Awesome! A scratchy old record simulator”.
As soon as I booted it up however, I thought “What the hell did I think I was going to use this for?”
The Vinyl VST does just what you think it does: it emulates the sounds of old vinyl players. You can add dust noise and an old fashioned frequency response to your records. The intensity, ‘color’ and amount of dust noise is highly adjustable, and you can even choose the age of the record emulated.
It works great, sounds super realistic, but for the life of me I can’t find anything to do with it.
Nevertheless, it’s certainly an elegant unit. Elegant and wee bit useless, for me anyway.
PROS: It works and sounds awesome.
CONS: It makes things sound like old records, lol
