The Audiocation Compressor AC1 was developed by some rather clever peeps to produce high-speed response times (attack time 10 µs – 500 ms, release 50µs – 2 s) and an input with analogue transformer simulation.

“Compressor AC1 is a dynamic processor plug-in optimized for low CPU usage whilst maintaining the highest precision in signal processing,” so goes the spiel. “It features a free adjustable knee and an input transformer simulation to add some harmonic distortion and character to your signal.”

The fast control response times allow for subtly distorted sounds as well as strongly distorted sound effects.
